The Manifesto:
We, the creators with obviously too much time on our hands, would normally not care this much about an election. Politically, we're pretty much middle-of-the-road, and we generally don't take the "left" or the "right" all that seriously. However, because of the two very different paths our country will take depending on who gets elected, we care now. And we honest-to-god believe that it's important that everyone cares too, at least for this election.
This is not a commercial website, nor is it a website sponsored by any organization. It was created by a few friends who know how to make a website. Our only intentions are to increase awareness about the upcoming election and to indirectly encourage more people to make the effort to vote.
Which brings us to the main point of this website:
if we make sure everyone we know is voting, and they make sure everyone they know is voting, and so on, wouldn't everyone be voting?
When someone promises their friend or family member that they will do something, that person will be more inclined to follow through than if they made the same promise to some faceless organization.
Additionally, when you tell someone you know "hey, I have a stance on this election and I'm going to vote, are you?", that person is much more likely to take an interest if they haven't yet. Even if you are absolutely sure that everyone you know is going to vote, the point is to spread the message. Ultimately, that message will get to the people who might not otherwise make the effort to register to vote or physically go out to the polls on November 2nd.
